Star Trek - TOS-era Escort/Scout

a little idea i have been noodling with for about a month. not really sure where else to go, honestly, besides doing internals. i did start roughing out the layout. general shape obviously inspired by the Hermes/Saladins from the old Technical Manual, or more directly, the Apollo or Akula variants.

Length - 90m
Breadth - 50m
Depth - 42 m

Arms: 2 single emitter Phaser Turrets, one Photon Torpedo launcher

Decks: 5
Deck 1 - Bridge
Deck 2 - Senior Crew Quarters, computer core, torpedo scanners, Main Engineering upper level
Deck 3 - Main Engineering, Torpedo bay, mess, sickbay, environmental and waste processing systems, crew quarters, marine eqv. detachment (for boarding/inspection)
Deck 4 - Small hangar capable of taking up to three of the shuttles depicted, small machine shop, some miscellaneous stowage lockers.
Deck 5 - Main Sensor/Deflector and ancillary equipment

phaser turrets have the power of a Constitution-class ship's main phasers. They allow a 45 degree sweep to port or starboard, with a few degrees extra, as well as inclination and declination, afforded by lensing effects. probably unneccesary and silly, and maybe they get replaced with normal emitters in a refit, but this idea was driven by the image in my head of the phaser firing over the bridge and sweeping to the side as it approaches a target. carries at least 20 torpedoes. this is on the "kind of a submarine" area of ships.

she is small. too small to bother with a turbolift. there's a companionway behind the bridge leading to all other decks, with ladders across from the corridors leading to the docking ports on deck 3. too small for Jeffries tubes, even. this is not a science ship, this is not a ship for studying gaseous anomalies, despite the file name being "scout", she is not really for going ahead, she logs weirdnesses and sends them on to Starfleet Headquarters for further mission assignments. i envisioned her specifically as being in the convoy escort role, though also system patrol and defense makes sense. she has powerful warp drives for short range pursuit of raiders, and powerful phasers and full size torpedoes to deal with miscreants, and decent shields, but if she takes any signifigant hit, she's out. these are meant to operate as a group of at least four, with a tender to restock them during long routes and coordinate defense, which might be a ship of the convoy (like if it's a Ptolemy or similar) or might be a member of the same class, with torpedo bay or hangar rplaced with additional comm/scan equipment or stores.
deck heights from floor to overhead (if there IS an overhead plate in a particular compartment) is 2 meters, with 25 cm interstitials, slightly reinforced around the rim. hangar is taller.
doesn't have a name or registry number. this is the kind of ship where the registry IS the name.

nice aft.

just a kind of rough and simple model of the shuttles it carries, good for distance shots. a meter shorter that the Class F official numbers, combined with the location of the nacelles, makes it very compact, as it needs to be in order to

you can see the entrance hatch and landing skids. or at least their shapes. if i get around to making a full one, those will open and stuff.

initially i did a version of the nacelles with the whole plasma vent and stuff, but couldn't figure which way to turn them and they otherwise clashed with the look i was going for.
