USS Entente NCC-2120

My take on the Federation-class dreadnought from Franz Joseph's Technical Manual.

wanted to do a write-up as if it were an in-universe overview but brain didn't want to organize it right.

never liked how the nacelles weren't lined up, figured that would be bad for warp balance, or whatever, so i fixed that. while i like the FJ placement of phasers, i still felt as a DN she was underarmed, so i made all of her saucer banks triples, and she has nearly as many torpedo tubes as phaser emitters. shuttlebay door doesn't span the whole breadth of the engineering section, but there is enough internal space for there to be at least a half a dozen Class F shuttlecraft on the main deck, plus i figure she's got a couple of levels of storage for more. moved around some stuff. doesn't have dedicated tractor and deflector dishes like the original, because tractor stuff is built into the shuttlebay platform, and i figure the deflectors are built into the bussard collectors, the finial bits, before refits combine them with the main sensor dishes instead.
while the focs of the design is on weapons capability, that does not mean she is lacking in scientific capabilities. in fact, it's powerful dual main sensor dishes and ability to carry a large compliment of shuttles are considered an immense asset in this regard.
